Baked chum salmon is a healthy dish and retains most of the nutrients found in the raw product. It is often cooked with various vegetables: broccoli, carrots, tomatoes and potatoes. They are well baked in foil. The combination of red fish and potatoes is considered one of the most successful, as these ingredients perfectly complement each other, and the dish turns out not only tasty, but also hearty.
Selection and preparation of ingredients
First of all, you need to buy good quality chum salmon. It should be free of any mechanical damage, bruising, spots, plaque and yellowness. The carcass itself must be dense and elastic, the gills should have a reddish color, and the scales should fit snugly. If the chum salmon is frozen, then the ice crust should be transparent or white, not thick, without cracks and sag.

Potato chum salmon recipes
Three step-by-step recipes are given here, guided by which, you can simply and tasty prepare chum salmon with potatoes in foil. These two main ingredients can be supplemented with other vegetables and grated cheese, or just sprinkled with seasonings.
Foil steak

Nutritional value per 100 g:
- Clean the steaks and rinse, then pat dry with a paper towel.
- Wash and peel potatoes and onions. Then cut the potatoes into thin strips, and the onion into half rings.
- Salt the vegetables, add a little sunflower oil and mix.
- Put one piece of chum salmon steak into small pieces of foil. Each piece of fish should be salted and sprinkled with seasonings for fish, pour over juice squeezed from half a lemon.
- Put potatoes with onions next to the fish and form edges on the foil, making home-made baking tins out of it.
- Put everything in an oven preheated to + 250 ° C for 15 minutes. Then remove the half-finished dish, sprinkle with grated cheese and send back to the oven for another 15 minutes.

- Wash fillet of chum salmon, dry with a napkin and grind in strips.
- Peel, wash and slice the onion.
- Peel the potatoes and chop into small pieces.
- Wash the tomatoes and cut into circles.
- Grind cheese on a grater;
- Place foil in a baking dish and apply vegetable oil on top of it.
- Spread the fish evenly. Sprinkle with salt, spices to taste and herbs, and sprinkle with chopped cheese (2/3) on top.
- Then place a layer of onions, potatoes, tomatoes, and each row sprinkle with cheese.
- Cover everything on top with foil.
- In the oven preheated to + 220 ° C, put the mold and hold for 25 minutes.
- Separately grind mayonnaise with leftover cheese and basil.
- Take out the half-finished dish after the specified time, remove the foil and spread it with cheese mixture with mayonnaise.
- Keep in the oven for another 15 minutes.

- Cover the baking dish with foil and grease it with vegetable oil.
- Wash and peel the potatoes, and then cut into thin circles.
- Put potatoes on foil and salt.
- Wash and cut chum salmon filet, put on potatoes and sprinkle with spices. In this case, you can use seasoning for fish, black pepper or nutmeg.
- Wrap the foil and put the dish in the oven for 50 minutes to preheat to + 180 ° С.
Important! When baking in foil, fish with vegetables should be wrapped so that juice does not flow out of them, but the material should not cover the products too tightly - an air gap should remain.
The chum baked in foil is juicy, and the potatoes are well baked and soft. It is good to serve cream sauce with dill. This is a great meal for a family or holiday dinner.
