Mazoon Dairy Company, a leading dairy project in Oman that recently announced its brand identity, plans to launch a series of dairy-based products in the Sultanate during the upcoming Ramadan.
Speaking to the Muscat Daily as part of the Mazoon Dairy corporate identity launch ceremony, Eng Saleh al-Shanfari, CEO of Oman Food Investment Holding Holding Co (OFIC), said: “We plan to introduce fresh milk and other milk-based products along with some packaged juices in Ramadan time this year. "
OFIC, authorized by the government to promote food security in the Sultanate, is a promoter of Mazoon Dairy. Mazoon Dairy will operate in retail to promote its products in the country.In addition, Mazoon Dairy announced plans to start milk production in the second quarter of this year with the goal of producing more than 200 million liters of milk per year by 2026 and increasing capacity to 900 million liters by 2040. The company has already received 3,400 Australian cows in two deliveries in January and February this year.
“Our herd stock is growing, and we expect the total number of milking animals to reach 5,000 by the end of this year. We have a plan to increase the number of cows to 25,000 in the near future and in ten years to become self-sufficient, ”said Shanfari.
