The head of the Regional State Administration Igor Gundich informed about the imminent construction of a flax mill on the lands of the Zhytomyr region during a meeting of the local Regional Development Council.

According to the Doing.Business rating, Zhytomyr Oblast is one of the three regions with the most comfortable climate for investment. enterprises in the region attracted twice as much investment as in 2017. The total amount of attracted investment funds amounted to $ 5.6 million, Igor Gundich informed.

Zhytomyr region is known for its high level of agricultural development. About 800 thousand tons of oilseeds are grown on its lands per year. There are all prerequisites for the construction of a plant for the production of sunflower oil. If it opens, it is guaranteed to enter the top ten most powerful factories in Ukraine in this industry. In addition, this year it is planned to begin the construction of a flax mill. An investor for this project has already been found.

For the further development of the Zhytomyr region, local authorities propose making more convenient logistics, in particular, air communication and high-quality roads, Igor Gundich summed up.
