According to the main veterinary inspection, from November 25 to December 13 of the current year, 203 cases of ASF in eight Polish provinces were confirmed.
During the reporting period, cases were confirmed in the following voivodships: Warmian-Masurian (80 cases), Lubelskoe (47 cases), Lubuskie (34 cases), Subcarpathian (19 cases), Mazowieckie (12 cases), Podlaskie (6 cases), Greater Poland (3 cases) and Lower Silesia (2 cases).
The worst situation in western Warmia, especially in Elblлонg county, where 34 cases of plague were confirmed. A high density of cases of African swine fever is also observed on the border between the southern part of Lublin and the northern part of Subcarpathia.
With a lack of feed, wild boars make massive crossings several hundred kilometers long.
Of concern and the dynamic development of ASF epizootics in the west of the country, especially in the Lubusz Voivodeship, where several dozen cases of plague were confirmed within a few weeks.
In total, the presence of African swine fever virus during this period was confirmed in 281 wild boar tissue analyzes, of which 24 confirmed the presence of antibodies specific for ASF. Since the beginning of the year, a total of 2,258 cases of illness in wild pigs have been confirmed in Poland.
- Earlier, we reported that 9 infected boars were found in Poland near the border with Germany.
- Japan is preparing a series of measures that will increase biosecurity at pig farms in the event of an outbreak of ASF.
- Despite laboratory tests showing that there is no African swine fever in Southeast Asia, more than 4,000 pigs have died.
- We also wrote that in Russia there was a discussion of the epizootic situation in ASF and the causes of its outbreaks in the country.
- As African swine fever spreads across many Asian and European countries, pig owners in New Zealand are vigilant.
