As of July 3, 2019, farmers of the Kherson region threshed the first 1 million tons of grain. This was reported by the press service of the APR Department of the Kherson region.
Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Development Andrei Nedelko notes that this year the weather had a favorable effect on early grains.
This made average crop yields higher than in the previous year. To date, it has amounted to 33 kg / ha.
According to Andrei Nedelko, the quality of winter wheat of the current crop can be called the best. Already harvested this year, grain mainly has a quality of at least 3 classes. due to the vagaries of the weather, the quality of the resulting crop of grain crops was reduced.
Currently, the harvesting of early grains has reached its equator. 49% of the sown area of the total number of 667 thousand hectares has already been mowed, from which 1.08 million tons of grain were collected.
If this positive trend continues, then Kherson farmers will be able to expect a crop of 2.4 million tons of grain. Earlier it was reported that this year Ukrainian farmers can harvest a record crop of grain crops at the level of 80 million tons.
