Ambrosia is not only the enemy of allergy sufferers, but also cultivated plants. Scientists from the Southern Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, who have proposed a biological control method, know how to lime dangerous weed.
Ambrosia does the most harm to spring and row crops, and sunflower suffers the most from it. If you do not remove ragweed on time, it can significantly reduce the crop yield, or even lead to its death.
On pastures, the plant affects the quality of hay. The leaves of ragweed are bitter, and the animals refuse to eat them. With this in mind, it is necessary to fight it, but not with the help of administrative fines, the head of the peasant farm Anatoly Zatsarinny said in a statement.
Ragweed
The usual ways to deal with ragweed are weeding, mowing and spraying with chemicals. Scientists of the Southern Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences have found a new original method for the destruction of ragweed.
They experimentally proved that the areas littered with ragweed can be cleaned by planting Sarepta mustard. Mustard can completely displace a weed plant. And when you settle on a site of insects of a certain species, there is not a trace left of it.
According to Zatsarin, the most effective and proven method is chemical processing, but it is expensive, and mowing the weed is inefficient. As a result, the future lies with the biological method of combating with mustard.
