As it became known, the authorities of the Moscow Region intend in the very near future to seriously consider the possibility of developing the cultivation of various crops in closed ground conditions.
Based on the information shared by the head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region with the general public, regional farmers are not interested in standing still and being content with what they have achieved.
Their ambitious plans include the maximum development of the greenhouse industry using the latest technologies and expanding the species line of crops.
The farmers of the capital region are not going to concentrate on growing cucumbers and tomatoes alone in greenhouse conditions, says the head of the regional Ministry of Agriculture Andrei Razin.
According to him, today there is a search for alternative opportunities, and cultivation in the closed ground of garden strawberries (strawberries) and other types of berries is being targeted.
“According to the experts with whom we were negotiating, berries are in high demand among residents of the Moscow Region, especially when it comes to local products.
So, strawberries and other berry crops are potentially interesting agricultural products for the domestic market both in the region and in the country as a whole. ”
