The epizootic situation in the Swedish region of Västra Götaland is currently recognized as safe, although more recently the Newcastle disease virus was rampant. The disease affected local chickens. As a result, the import of feathered meat, as well as live poultry and used special poultry farms, was banned for export.

Fortunately, the situation was corrected as soon as possible, and today the staff of the veterinary and regulatory services of Russia recognized the products of Swedish poultry farms suitable for export to the Russian Federation market.

Representatives of the Rosselkhoznadzor add that the restrictions came into force at the end of 2018, but by the end of February 2019, birds and poultry products and equipment from the Vastra Gotaland region had managed to rehabilitate.

Today, employees of the Rosselkhoznadzor note, it is quite possible to import into Russia both chilled poultry meat and live chickens, as well as bird feed, equipment for slaughter and butchering of birds. The transit of birds through the territory of the Russian Federation is also allowed. That's just pro-embargo is still relevant on the Russian side, which, alas, “orders” the penetration of the Swedish chicken into the diet of Russians.
