Each year, the Black Sea region supplies the world community with more than 100 million tons of grain, or 28% of all world trade.
This year Ukraine plans to reduce wheat exports, as it does not expect a large crop of this crop, an expert on the grain market, Elizaveta Malyshko, said.
According to the expert, this season Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Russia in total export about 58 million tons of wheat, which is 32% of all world trade. Wheat exports from this region will decrease, which will become a distinguishing feature of the current season, since over the past five years the Black Sea region has shown annual steady growth in exports, said Elizaveta Malyshko.According to the expert, a decrease in export volumes will occur due to the fact that wheat production this year will not be as large as in the record year 2017.
“Despite the fact that this season the total export of wheat from the region will decrease, the only country that reduced it is Ukraine. Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation, on the contrary, increased the pace of wheat supplies by 8% compared to last season, ”added Elizaveta Malyshko.Earlier it was reported that the quality of bread in Ukraine has deteriorated due to the fact that milling enterprises prefer to sell their best products abroad. Thus, flour of not the best quality remains inside the country, which goes for baking bread.
