Agrarians of Odessa and Nikolaev regions began harvesting grain crops. Barley is threshed in the Saratsky district of the Odessa region, according to a statement by the chief agronomist of the Balkans peasant farm Anatoly Volkanov.
The landowner said that the farm is already harvesting the first crop of barley. As the air temperature has been high in the region over the past few weeks, there is no point in delaying the harvest;
Anatoly Volkanov does not yet give preliminary forecasts on the level of grain yield.
According to the chief agronomist, harvesting has also begun in the Izmail district of Odessa region. But the agrarians of the Belgorod-Dniester region were faced with the need to postpone the harvest, since there have been heavy rains recently.
A similar problem exists in the Kherson region. It is noteworthy that heavy rains paid tribute to the farms of the region selectively. In some farms there was no rain at all, and the territory of others received a three-month norm of rainfall and hail.
There were no more than 5% of such unlucky areas in the region as a whole, but grain harvesting is still delayed, said Andrei Nedelko, deputy director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development of KHOA.
The harvesting company started in the Nikolaev area. According to the Department of Agro-Industrial Development of the region, a group of companies LLC PA PAEK informed about the threshed hectares of winter barley.
By the end of the day, it is planned to carry out a trial threshing of early grains in the Ochakov district. According to the chief agronomist of PJSC "Radsad" Nikolai Kornienko, they plan to harvest on June 18, and the farm is waiting for excess moisture to come off.
