On April 26, 2019, the Belgorod-Dniester Odessa region imposed a temporary ban on the operation of the Yuzhny fish canning factory.
The enterprise was closed in order to prevent an emergency due to contamination of industrial waste in the surrounding area. Recall that during operation, this fish cannery constantly pours sewage onto a dozen streets in the Plavnevaya district. Residents of the city complained about the plant to all competent authorities.
At Yuzhny enterprise there are no meters for wastewater; the amount of industrial wastewater emissions significantly exceeds the norms and concentrations of pollutants. Because of this, the plant is accused of pollution, clogging and depletion of drinking water sources, as well as damage to water disposal facilities and water supply of public utilities, which violates Art. 22 of the Law of Ukraine "About water supply, water supply and water supply".By its illegal actions, the plant caused damage in the amount of 12 million 497 thousand 398 UAH. Considering the above, from April 26, 2019, the executive committee imposed a temporary ban on the operation of the plant until it eliminates these violations.
In addition, labor inspectors will monitor the compliance with the standards of the Labor Code of Ukraine, which relate to the proper registration of employment of employees of the Yuzhny plant.
