This year, the season of young vegetables will begin extremely early, on average, 10 days earlier than last year. Every year, farmers try to start sales as early as possible. This is due to an increase in Ukrainians' consumption of fresh vegetables. Ukrainian farmers do not want imported products to occupy the niche of young vegetables and are trying to display their goods at the best prices as quickly as possible. Domestic entrepreneurs are also aware of the patriotism of the Ukrainian buyer. Local vegetables always sell better, subject to a slight difference in price and the same quality.
The total number of producers of early vegetables decreased due to labor migration of Ukrainians to foreign countries. But this is offset by the high yield of vegetables in professional agricultural enterprises that remain in this segment and do not leave the country.
Recall that in Ukraine it is already possible to buy young potatoes brought from abroad. Its price remains within 30 UAH.
