Breeders of the Saratov region planned this year to produce 755 thousand tons of milk. This is 2.4% more than in 2018, the governor’s press service said in a statement.
To date, 405 PF milk, agricultural enterprises and more than 65 thousand tons of milk are produced in the region, which is 101.1% of the level of the same period in 2018. At the same time, farms of all categories contain 167.1 thousand dairy cows.
By the volume of milk produced and the number of cows, the Saratov region is in 9th place in the list of Russian regions and in 4th place in the Volga Federal District.
Cows are able to cry, like humans and dolphins.
Currently, 9 investment projects for the construction and reconstruction of dairy farms are being implemented here. It is planned that new facilities, reaching their design capacity, will additionally produce 20 thousand. At the same time, their opening will provide more than 100 people with jobs. About 15 farms are still only in the plans of local breeders.
According to the governor of the region, Valery Radaev, at present there is no shortage of high-quality new equipment, only personnel are lacking. Animal husbandry helps to preserve valuable specialists, since people work at this job all year round, and not seasonally, as in plant growing.
In the Saratov region, a number of large-scale processing projects are currently being implemented, such as an ice cream factory. And this means that a stable raw material base is required for the production of our own products.
