Representatives of rare species of the Moscow Region flora are constantly monitored by leading environmental experts. In particular, the Verkhovye Foundation experts regularly monitor the condition of plants in the territory they have introduced and have recently released interesting information.
In particular, it became known that near the city of Dmitrov, located in the so-called near Moscow region, a rare lichen grows, which is of the type Bryoria nadvornikiana.
“We found this plant in the forest near Dmitrov,” the staff said. - And they were very surprised, since the plant is not just rare - it is listed in the Red Book under the heading "third category of rarity." That is, we are talking about such a lichen, which is almost never found anywhere in the world and refers to an endangered species. "
Dmitrovskaya Bryoria nadvornikiana grows in the humid environment of a swampy forest. According to environmentalists, this plant is very capable of determining increased atmospheric pollution and can never grow where the ecology leaves much to be desired. In other words, lichen alone characterized the Dmitrovsky district as an ecologically clean suburb of a gassed metropolis. The previous discovery of Bryoria nadvornikiana in the Moscow region occurred in the Zavidovo park eleven years ago.
