The second decade of June was dry and hot in most of Ukraine. This worsened the conditions for loading grain in early grains and the growth of late crops.
Crops in the North, East and the Center of Ukraine suffered the most from the heat. The number of rains amounted to 5-20% of the norm.
This situation affected the state of the soil in a negative way. On the lands of the above regions, soil drought of varying degrees is observed, the Ukrhydromettsentr said.
In the second decade of June, there was an active accumulation of heat (the total temperature efficiency was almost one and a half times higher than the norm). This led to the fact that the early grains ripened prematurely.
So, in the southern regions of the country, winter crops reached wax and full ripeness of grain 1.5-2.5 weeks earlier than average. Harvests of late crops, such as soybeans, corn, and sunflower, formed a satisfactory rating due to the influence of agrometeorological conditions.
Earlier it was reported that the grain harvest of the Kherson region as a whole was not affected due to heavy rains. The number of affected crops of early crops reaches no more than 5%, which does not cause concern.
